Both of these ladies will be there.:
The lady on the right will, at 4 pm in the Wesleyan Chapel, tell you all about Frederick Douglass and women's rights. The one on the left will, from the porch of her house, tell you about her life and encourage you to -- no, demand that you -- support woman's rights.
Every time I speak at Seneca Falls, I'm honored by the history of the site, but I'm usually in the Visitor's Center. To be able to speak in the space where the convention took place, where Douglass himself stood? I hope I am worthy!
By the way, doesn't Elizabeth Cady Stanton (on the right) have that smile down pat?
Kind of eerie, isn't it? You feel a little dopey in her presence and have to remind yourself, "not really HER, not really HER."
