GLIS Teachers' Seminar

Each summer at Yale University, Prof. David Blight runs a teachers' seminar on "The Life and Writings of Frederick Douglass" through the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. Ever the gracious and generous scholar, he invited me to speak to the teachers about women and Douglass.  Here is a "tweet" from one of the teachers:

You can see that they are a fun bunch. More than that, they are incredibly educated, experienced, and curious -- real powerhouses. You want your children in their hands. The Powers-That-Be who make the rules that constrict them, suspect them, and devalue them do violence to the future of the nation. Nevertheless, they persist. As always, it was an honor.
